Prerequisite Math 141 (Calculus with Analytic Geometry: Derivatives, Integrals, Sequences & Series, Polar Coordinates).
Material This course will cover topics in combinatorics (art of basic counting principles), axioms of probability, conditional probability and independence, discrete and continuous random variables, joint distributions, expectation, limit theorems.

Textbook Mathematical Statistics and Data Analysis,Second Edition, John Rice (Duxbury Press)
Grading Policy Selected homework assignments from the textbook will be collected in class and graded periodically on a weekly basis. To get a full credit, you need to show all your work on paper and hand your assignments in on due date. No late homework will be accepted.
If you happen to have an emergency, please bring your supporting documents with you when you come to see me. 
Exam dates are only tentative and will be confirmed in class at least a week in advance. All the exams (midterms and final) will be closed-book. You are allowed to bring one 8.5x11 double-sided formula sheet for the midterm exams. A formula sheet will be provided in class a week before the final to review the topics for the final.
Calculators are authorized, but cannot be shared.
No early or late exam will be given without a written and legitimate excuse, such as conflict examinations, death in the family, accidents,...
There will be weekly assigned Homeworks (30%), two Midterms (40%) and one Final Exam(30%).
Add & Drop: Deadlines for late registration and drop/add are between 01/12/04 and 01/21/04.
Conflict: Final exam conflict filing period is from February 23, 2004 to March 05, 2004 at the Registrar's office located at 112 Shields Building.
Late Drop: The last day for late drop is on Friday, April 09, 2004.
