Purpose of the Course

The purpose of the course is to introduce the basic computing environment of the department and statistical softwares such as S-Plus. The first 4 lectures are about the unix operating system and will be covered by James Lockwood. Naomi Altman will cover Splus and other useful software for statistical research.
