Evaluating a Table and Graph

Synopsis: An activity which involves analyzing a graph and table.  Students break up into groups of 3 to 4 students, and study the graph and table to determine what types of data are represented.

Type of activity: In-class, small-group

Statistical topics: types of data

Time needed: 10-15 minutes

Materials needed:

Procedure:
  1. Ask students to break up into groups of size 3 or 4.
  2. Give one activity form to each student.
  3. Ask students to study the graph and analyze the data paying close attention to the types of data.
  4. Have the students answer the proceeding questions about the graph and the types of data.
  5. Repeat these steps for the table analysis.
