Alumni Presentations

Do you remember that point in graduate school when you wondered how you would choose a research topic or what a career in statistics offered?  Help current students answer such questions with a presentation!  We are interested in the statistical issues you face as a statistician, and your research into new applications.   These talks should be geared toward a master's student level and emphasize methodology and applications.

If you are interested in such a presentation, please let us know by Friday, March 1, 2003.  You may email us at Alumni Workshop Committee.  We will also be collecting abstracts during the month of March to compile a proceedings.

Student Poster Competition

Our department has been growing and we now have undergraduate students, Masters of Applied Statistics students, as well as MA/MS and PhD students.  This year we are inviting our current students to display their research in a poster presentation.  With assistance from alumni contributions, we will be able to offer a cash prize to the top poster(s).  We are asking for (small) donations that can be summed to create such a prize.  Posters will be judged by alumni Friday and the prize announced at the Friday evening reception.
