First Year

Same as master's program. Fall semester consists of STAT 511 and 513, and an elective course such as STAT 464 or MATH 441, 451, or 455. Spring semester is filled with required courses STAT 512, 514, and 515.

Second Year

Students could take STAT 551, 553, 580, and a choice from STAT 505, 524, 544, or MATH 403 in the fall semester. In the spring, students may take STAT 580, and three choices from STAT 503, 526, 545, 552 and MATH 404.

Remaining Years

The student can schedule courses described under required and elective courses in consultation with his or her advisor and graduate committee. During the third year, the student should form a graduate committee and must schedule the Graduate School oral comprehensive examination by the end of their third academic year. No courses are usually taken for credit during the final year, when the thesis is completed and defended prior to graduation.
