Students interested in the Biostatistics
option can select elective courses from STAT 525, 544, and appropriate topics courses in biostatistics
theory and methods. The biostatistics special topics
courses are STAT 509 Design and Analysis of Clinical Trials, and STAT 507 Epidemiologic Research Methods.
In addition,
fellowships and/or research assistantship funding may
be available through research projects from the Department of Public Health Sciences at the
Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and may be requested
for the final years of the Ph.D. program. Typically,
the student interested in this option will select a
thesis advisor from the faculty with joint appointments
in Statistics and Biostatistics, and would spend the
last year or two (including summers) at the Department
of Public Health Sciences.
