Statistics Major Requirements:
Applied Statistics Option
(pdf version of applied statistics
option requirements)
In addition to the general education
and statistics, mathematics, and
computer science requirements for all statistics majors,
students selecting the applied statistics option must
take sufficient credits in another field to
obtain a minor (or the equivalent of a minor) in that field.
The total credits for the courses below
plus those in the
statistics, mathematics, and computer science
category must total 72. Together with the 48 required
general education requirements, this is a total of 120 credits.
Possible choices of a supporting field are listed below. If
a student wants to work in a supporting area that does not have a minor,
he/she can propose a list of six appropriate courses and petition
the Statistics Department for approval.
