Summary of research interests

Dr. Sentürk’s research interests include covariate adjusted regression and correlation analysis for situations where both the predictors and response in a regression setting are observed after being multiplied by an unknown function of a common observable confounding covariate. This type of modelling is motivated mainly by regression problems in the life sciences. One natural application is adjusting for body configuration measurements such as body mass index in medical studies, where the measured variables such as serum protein concentrations are known to depend on the common confounder of body mass index.

Dr. Sentürk has explored estimation and inference of the original regression coefficients from the regression of the underlying response and predictors making use of the varying coefficient modeling. She has also been working on adjustments for additive measurement error in varying coefficient models.
