STAT 100: Statistical Concepts and Reasoning

This course is designed to introduce students to the art and science of decision making in the presence of uncertainty. In taking this course, students will develop an understanding of the reasoning by which findings from sample data can be extended to larger, more general populations. Students will also learn how to critically evaluate the results of studies reported in the popular media and scientific press. Examples and applications from a variety of fields will be emphasized.
