Poster Competition at the Alumni Workshop

 We encourage you to participate!

The Statistics Department Alumni Workshop will be on Thursday, March 23, 2006. This will be the third year that we sponsor a student poster competition in conjunction with the workshop.  A monetary prize will be awarded for the best poster submitted.

 If you are a student working on a project (graduate or undergraduate) you should consider submitting a poster to complement your hard work and interesting research.  Also, research projects such as honor’s projects, MAS projects, MS and PhD research make great posters.  The poster competition can also serve as practice before presenting your research at a conference.

 If you are a professor assigning a project soon, we would love it if you would encourage your students to submit a poster.

Two Important Deadlines

1. Registering for the Poster Competition: March 10 by 5:00pm.

Please email Lu Zhang (lzz114@psu.edu) and Huei-Wen Teng (hut118@psu.edu) if you are interested in submitting a poster.  Include the title as well as the authors of the poster. 

2. Turning in the Poster for display at the Alumni/ae Workshop: March 20 by 5:00pm.

You will be contacted in advance as to where you may submit your completed poster.

We strongly encourage people who will be submitting posters to have them printed a few days in advance of the deadline to allow for any delays due to printing.
